Harold Reiter took the lead in developing this circle session on KenKen for the 2011 ”Circle on the Road” workshop.

**Title:** Using Kenken to Build Mathematical Thinking Skills

KenKen is a puzzle whose solution requires a combination of logic

and simple arithmetic and combinatorial skills. The puzzles range

in difficulty from very simple to incredibly difficult. Students

who get hooked on the puzzle will find themselves practicing

addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts.

A hand out to start the session is attached. (You must log in in order to see it.)

**Apprentices:** In-Jae Kim, Moon Lee
